Broadway’s ‘Company,’ ‘Clyde’s’ among Drama Desk winners

“Company,” “Kimberly Akimbo” and “Clyde’s” are among the 2022 Drama Desk Award winners.

The Broadway-bound “Kimberly Akimbo” won Outstanding Musical. The show is expected to open at the Booth Theatre on Oct. 12.

“Company” won Outstanding Revival, with Matt Doyle and Patti LuPone taking home awards in their respective Featured Actor and Actress categories. Director Marianne Elliott also won for her work on the show.

“Clyde’s” also won a handful of awards, including Outstanding Actor in a Play for Ron Cephas Jones.

Jaquel Spivey won Outstanding Actor for his leading role in “A Strange Loop,” while Joaquina Kalukango took home the Outstanding Actress award for “Paradise Square.”

The 66th Annual Drama Desk Awards, which honor Broadway, Off-Broadway, and Off-Off-Broadway, will be handed out on June 14 at Sardi’s.
