For the week ending Nov. 6, Broadway saw its highest-grossing week since July 10, when it had earned $30,109,850.
During this past week, Broadway grossed $29,813,739, up 9% from the week prior. The 32 productions running played to 84% capacity, down 0.5%.
The three top-grossing productions were “The Music Man,” “Hamilton” and “The Lion King.” Seven productions played to 95% capacity or greater, while 11 shows were at a capacity of 70% or less.
In the final week of its Broadway run, “Cost of Living” earned $239,420, down 9%, and played to 75% capacity, down 2%.
Through its first five previews, “A Beautiful Noise, The Neil Diamond Musical” grossed $845,074 and played to 88% capacity. “Some Like It Hot,” which also began previews last week, earned $539,593 and played to 82% capacity.
“KPOP,” which canceled its Nov. 2 matinee performance, saw an 11% increase in capacity, playing to an 83% full house. However, grosses fell 16%, with the new musical earning $139,388.
A handful of fall-season productions experienced significant capacity decreases last week, including “Take Me Out” (down 7%), “Mike Birbiglia: The Old Man & the Pool” (down 27%), “Topdog/Underdog” (down 15%) and “Walking with Ghosts” (down 15%).
“Some Like It Hot” began previews on Nov. 1, while “A Beautiful Noise, The Neil Diamond Musical” started previews on Nov. 2. “Kimberly Akimbo,” “Mike Birbiglia: The Old Man & the Pool,” “& Juliet” and “KPOP” all remained in previews. “Almost Famous” opened on Nov. 3.
