The Broadway League has voted Broadway producer Brian Moreland and Kendra Whitlock Ingram, president of the Marcus Performing Arts Center, to its board of governors.

They join the about 50-person board, led by Disney Theatrical Group President Thomas Schumacher and including Broadway theater owners, leading Broadway producers and the heads of presenting theaters across the country.

Moreland, currently a producer of “Blue” at the Apollo Theater, has been a producer on Broadway shows including “The Lifespan of a Fact,” “Sea Wall/A Life” and “The Sound Inside.”

“Serving in a leadership role at the Broadway League, I believe that it is more important than ever to remember that we are stronger together,” Moreland said in the press release. “I look forward to working with my colleagues to bring lasting change to the industry as we continue to tell stories that inspire and challenge audiences.”

Before her post at Milwaukee’s Marcus Performing Arts Center, Ingram held leadership positions at the Newman Center for the Performing Arts at the University of Denver, Omaha Performing Arts and more. Both Ingram and Moreland serve on the League’s Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Committee.

“I am honored to join the Broadway League Board of Governors, particularly during this unprecedented time in history. I look forward to contributing my voice to the League, as we work to bring back live performances and advance racial equity in our industry,” Ingram said.
