‘Between Riverside and Crazy’ cancels Jan. 8 performance

Second Stage’s production of “Between Riverside and Crazy” canceled its Jan. 8 matinée. As of publication, press representatives had not yet responded to request for comment regarding the reason for the cancellation or when performances will resume.

The show’s Jan. 4 and 5 performances were canceled due to an exposure to COVID-19. The play had resumed on Jan. 6 before the additional Jan. 8 cancellation.

The Broadway production of Stephen Adly Guirgis’ play began previews on Dec. 1 and officially opened at the Hayes Theatre on Dec. 19.

Directed by Austin Pendleton, “Between Riverside and Crazy” stars Stephen McKinley Henderson, Victor Almanzar, Elizabeth Canavan, Rosal Colón, Maria-Christina Oliveras, Michael Rispoli and Common.

The Broadway engagement is produced under the leadership of Second Stage’s president and artistic director Carole Rothman and executive director Khady Kamara.
