‘American Buffalo’ plans Broadway run in spring 2022

“American Buffalo” starring Laurence Fishburne, Sam Rockwell and Darren Criss will get its Broadway run this spring.  The David Mamet play, directed by Neil Pepe, was originally scheduled to open on Broadway in April 2020, but was unable to begin previews due to the theatrical shutdown.

“American Buffalo” starring Laurence Fishburne, Sam Rockwell and Darren Criss will get its Broadway run this spring.

The David Mamet play, directed by Neil Pepe, was originally scheduled to open on Broadway in April 2020, but was unable to begin previews due to the theatrical shutdown. Now, the production plans to open at the Circle in the Square Theatre on April 14, 2022.

Previews for the 16-week engagement are scheduled to begin the week of March 22, 2022.

“American Buffalo” is lead produced by Jeffrey Richards, who has also announced plans to bring the postponed production of “The Minutes” back to Broadway this spring.

The “American Buffalo” creative team includes set design by Scott Pask, costume design by Dede Ayite and lighting design by Tyler Micoleau.
