‘A Beautiful Noise’ sets closing date

The Neil Diamond bio-musical will launch a North American tour in 2024.

“A Beautiful Noise, The Neil Diamond Musical” will play its final performance on June 30. The jukebox musical, which tells the life story of Grammy Award-winning artist Neil Diamond, began previews at the Broadhurst Theatre on Nov. 2, 2022, and opened on Dec. 4. At the time of closing, the musical will have played 35 previews and 657 performances.

A previously announced North American tour is slated to launch from Rhode Island’s Providence Performing Arts Center in the fall of 2024.

Directed by Michael Mayer, “A Beautiful Noise” features a book by Anthony McCarten and a score consisting of songs by Diamond from his catalog.

The creative team includes choreographer Steven Hoggett, scenic designer David Rockwell, costume designer Emilio Sosa, lighting designer Kevin Adams, sound designer Jessica Paz, hair and wig designer Luc Verschueren, illusion consultant Jamie Harrison and properties designer Kathy Fabian. Music supervision and arrangements are by Sonny Paladino, incidental music and dance music arrangements by Brian Usifer, vocal design is by AnnMarie Milazzo and orchestrations are by Bob Gaudio, Paladino and Usifer.

Led by Nick Fradiani as “Neil Diamond—Then” and Mark Jacoby as “Neil Diamond—Now,” the cast also features Amber Ardolino as Marcia and Shirine Babb as Doctor. The company also includes Becky Gulsvig as Jaye Posner, Michael McCormick as Fred Weintraub/Tommy O’Rourke, Tom Alan Robbins as Bert Berns/Kieve Diamond and Bri Sudia as Ellie Greenwich/Rose Diamond.

Rounding out the company are Neal Benari, Dianna Marie Barger, Mateus Leite Cardoso, Gabrielle Djenné, Jordan Dobson, Ninako Donville, Paige Faure, Kalonjee Gallimore, Anthony J. Garcia, Jess LeProtto, Tatiana Lofton, Alec Michael Ryan, Aveena Sawyer, Deandre Sevon, Vanessa Sierra, Annie Wallace and Sean Watkinson.
