Actor Sam Tutty made his Broadway debut this past fall, originating the role of Dougal Todd in “Two Strangers (Carry a Cake Across New York).” A London-based actor, Tutty won the Olivier Award in 2020 for his performance as Evan in “Dear Evan Hansen.” Now, Tutty has received his first Tony Award nomination.

In this episode, the actor talks about developing his golden retriever-like character to be a nuanced, relatable (if excitable) young man. Plus, he reveals the most challenging part of the two-hander musical.
