Of the three plays Manhattan Theatre Club (MTC) produced on Broadway in the 2025-2026 season, all received Tony Award nominations. “Punch” received a nod for its leading actor, “Bug” received four nominations and “The Balusters” received five nominations, including Best Play.
The nonprofit institution is headed by artistic director Nicki Hunter and executive director Chris Jennings. The two spoke to Broadway News about the art of crafting a balanced season as well as the overall health of Broadway.
The 2026 Tony Awards will take place on June 7 at Radio City Music Hall. P!NK will host the ceremony, which will be broadcast live on CBS and livestreamed on Paramount+ Premium (8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT). CBS and Pluto TV will present the Tony Awards: Act One, with additional details to follow.
