2023 Drama Desk Awards set date and venue

The 67th annual ceremony will return to Sardi's Restaurant.

The 2023 Drama Desk Awards, honoring artistic excellence on Broadway, Off-Broadway and Off-Off-Broadway, will take place on June 6 at Sardi’s Restaurant. Additional details for the 67th annual ceremony, which recognizes the 2022-2023 season, are forthcoming. The cutoff for nominations is April 26.

Nominees will be announced on April 27 at 12 p.m. ET as part of Spectrum News NY1’s “News All Day.” NY1’s “On Stage” host Frank DiLella and Tony Award winner Donna McKechnie will host the broadcast.

As previously announced, this is the first year in which acting categories are gender-free. The new categories are Outstanding Leading Performance in a Play, Outstanding Leading Performance in a Musical, Outstanding Featured Performance in a Play and Outstanding Featured Performance in a Musical.

The Drama Desk is under the leadership of co-presidents David Barbour and Charles Wright. The 2022-2023 Drama Desk Nominating Committee includes Martha Wade Steketee, Linda Armstrong, Dan Dinero, Peter Filichia, Kenji Fujishima, Margaret Hall and Wright.
