Producer Van Dean has announced the creation of Center Stage Records. The new record label will record and produce cast albums from Broadway, Off-Broadway and London’s West End, in addition to concept recording and solo albums from Broadway actors.

Dean is no stranger to the recording world, having co-created Broadway Records in 2012. Dean has been running Broadway Records under the ownership of Cutting Edge Group, which acquired the label from Dean in early 2020. Center Stage will collaborate with Broadway Records, with Center Stage managing and distributing approximately two-thirds of Broadway Records’ current titles.

Robbie Rozelle will transition from his current post at Broadway Records to serve as Center Stage’s artists and repertoire director. Jamie Chapman Dixon will serve as executive director at Center Stage’s to-be established London office.

Dean is a Tony Award winner for his producing efforts on 2012’s “The Gershwin’s Porgy and Bess.” His other producing credits include the Tony-nominated productions of “Jagged Little Pill,” “Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Cinderella” and “Evita,” among others. He is currently represented on Broadway by “How to Dance in Ohio.”
