Tony Award-winning writer Michael R. Jackson steps into his ‘Strange Loop’

At the Jan. 7 matinée performance of Broadway’s “A Strange Loop,” Tony Award-winning writer Michael R. Jackson stepped into the lead role of Usher in a special concert version of the musical.

Jackson will take the stage again for another concert version of the show on Saturday night.

The Thursday, Jan. 5, and Friday, Jan. 6 performances of “A Strange Loop” were canceled due to non-COVID-related illness within the company.

“A Strange Loop” opened at the Lyceum Theatre on April 26, 2022, and will play its final performance on Jan. 15.

The musical is produced by Barbara Whitman, with Page 73 Productions, Woolly Mammoth Theatre Company and Playwrights Horizons.
