Tom Hewitt to replace Patrick Page in Broadway’s ‘Hadestown’

Tom Hewitt will take over the role of Hades in “Hadestown” on Jan. 3 at the Walter Kerr Theatre.

Hewitt will succeed original Broadway cast member Patrick Page, who will take his final bow on Dec. 30. Page, who has been with “Hadestown” since 2015 and through various developmental stages, received a Tony Award nomination for his performance.

Hewitt has previously stepped in to cover the role of Hades in Page’s absence, including when Broadway reopened following the pandemic shutdown. Hewitt’s other Main Stem credits include “Amazing Grace,” “Doctor Zhivago,” “Jesus Christ Superstar,” “The Lion King,” “Chicago” and a Tony-nominated turn in “The Rocky Horror Show.”

Hewitt will join a principal company that includes Jewelle Blackman as Persephone, Reeve Carney as Orpheus, Eva Noblezada as Eurydice and Lillias White as Hermes.

The cast also features Amelia Cormack, Soara-Joye Ross, Mariand Torres, Emily Afton, Malcolm Armwood, Brandon Cameron, Alex Puette, Grace Yoo, Tara Jackson, Max Kumangai, Sayo Oni, Yael “YaYa” Reich and Davis Wayne.

“Hadestown” is produced on Broadway by Mara Isaacs, Dale Franzen, Hunter Arnold and Tom Kirdahy. Casting is by Stewart/Whitley.
