“The Kite Runner” has announced a second performance each week where patrons are required to wear a mask.

Beginning Sept. 7, attendees at Wednesday matinees must wear masks, the production has announced.

This adds to the production’s previously announced mask policy, which includes Friday-night performances at the Hayes Theater.

The policy will remain in effect through the end of the play’s limited engagement on Oct. 30.

After the first Friday-night performance on Aug. 19 with the implemented mask policy, producers said, “We began this experiment with one masked weekend night, which was well-received, and wanted to offer a weekday matinee as well.”

All other performances follow The Broadway League’s mask-optional policy.

“The Kite Runner” is produced on Broadway by Victoria Lang,  Ryan Bogner and Tracey McFarland of Broadway & Beyond Theatricals. Daryl Roth is the executive producer.
