Theatre Communications Group (TCG) has announced the publication of David Lindsay-Abaire’s play “The Balusters.” Officially published on July 21, the play is now available through TCG Books.

“David Lindsay-Abaire is one of our most incisive and distinctive contemporary playwrights, bringing remarkable wit and humanity to his work,” said Alisha Tonsic, TCG’s co-executive director of national operations and business development, in a statement. “We’re proud to publish ‘The Balusters’ and to make this acclaimed play available to readers, artists and theaters across the country.”

“The Balusters” is a satire following the fastidious Vernon Point homeowners’ association as they debate the placement of a stop sign on the neighborhood’s most picturesque block. Produced on Broadway by Manhattan Theatre Club, it opened at the Samuel J. Friedman Theatre on April 21, where it ran through June 21. The production was nominated for five Tony Awards, including Best Play. Lindsay-Abaire is also the author of the Tony-winning libretto for “Kimberly Akimbo,” as well as the Pulitzer Prize-winning play “Rabbit Hole.”

Founded in 1961, TCG is a national organization for theater, and now includes more than 750 organizations and 3,000 individual members. It launched its publishing arm, TCG Books, in 1984.
