The Tony Award- and Olivier Award-winning production company Seaview has named Lizzie Stern as its creative executive. In this newly created position, Stern will work alongside the producing team to identify and develop theatrical projects from emerging and veteran artists alike.
Stern has years of experience nurturing artists and shepherding new works from genesis to production, having recently completed a 10-year tenure as literary director at Playwrights Horizons. Playwrights and Seaview are frequent collaborators. “Stereophonic,” which Seaview shepherded to Tony Award-winning success on Broadway in 2024, had its New York premiere with Playwrights in 2023. Stern has also collaborated with David Byrne on his forthcoming book, and, as a writer herself, Stern is an alumnus of EST/Youngblood, Clubbed Thumb’s Early Career Writers’ Group and SPACE on Ryder Farm.
“We are thrilled to welcome Lizzie to Seaview in this pivotal new position,” said Seaview CEO Greg Nobile in a statement. “Her deep relationships with writers, combined with her extraordinary dramaturgical insight and experience, make her uniquely suited to help us expand the creative scope of our work and continue building meaningful collaborations with artists.”
“It is an honor to be a part of the incredible team at Seaview — at the forefront of producing transformative work of the highest caliber across Broadway, Off-Broadway and the screen,” Stern added. “I am thrilled to join them in supporting courageous artists and brilliant new plays.”
In addition to “Stereophonic,” Seaview was recently represented on Broadway by “Good Night, and Good Luck,” “The Last Five Years,” “All In: Comedy About Love,” “Once Upon a Mattress” and the Tony-nominated revival of “Romeo + Juliet.” In addition to producing the upcoming Broadway bow of the Kristin Chenoweth-led “Queen of Versailles,” Seaview recently acquired its own Off-Broadway venue, the aforementioned Studio Seaview.
