“Just in Time” has officially recouped its $12.5 million capitalization. The production is the first Broadway musical from the 2024-2025 season to announce that it achieved profitability. “Just in Time” began previews on March 31, 2025, and opened on April 26 of that year. Over the course of its run, the show has repeatedly broken the weekly box office gross record at the Circle in the Square Theatre.

Developed and directed by Alex Timbers, “Just in Time” is based on an original concept by Ted Chapin. The musical features a book by Warren Leight and Isaac Oliver, music supervision and arrangements by Andrew Resnick and orchestrations by Resnick and Michael Thurber.

The show utilizes an unconventional, tailored script structure to tell the life story of the legendary singer Bobby Darin. That central role was originated in a Tony Award-nominated turn by Jonathan Groff, who also serves as one of the show’s producers. He was succeeded by Matthew Morrison and current star Jeremy Jordan. The musical’s current company also includes Joe Barbara, Emily Bergl, Isa Briones, Claire Camp, Debbie Gravitte, Julia Grondin, Lance Roberts, Caesar Samayoa, Carrie St. Louis and Jessica Mallare White. Upcoming casting changes include Olivia Holt, who is scheduled to replace Briones in the role of Connie Francis on May 30.

During the Broadway season when “Just in Time” opened, the musical received six Tony nominations, nine Drama Desk Award nominations, four Drama League Award nominations, three Outer Critics Circle Award nominations and three Chita Rivera Award nominations. An original Broadway cast recording, released by Atlantic Records, earned a 2026 Grammy Award nomination for Best Musical Theater Album.

As “Just in Time” enters its second year on Broadway, the property is preparing for expansion outside of New York. Producers have finalized plans to launch a previously reported North American tour in June 2027, with the initial summer route already announced and additional cities expected to be added early next year.

“Just in Time” is produced on Broadway by Tom Kirdahy, Robert Ahrens and John Frost.
