Broadway box office grosses are down in Week 50 of the 2025-2026 season relative to the previous week. For the week ending May 10, the overall gross fell 2.5% to $38,297,488, compared to $39,258,766 the week prior. Capacity dropped by 1.2% and attendance by 1.1%. Of note, “The Book of Mormon” canceled all performances for Week 50 following a fire at the Eugene O’Neill Theatre on May 4, while “Death of a Salesman” had a planned seven-performance week. “Chicago” also saw a significant drop in its box office grosses this week, decreasing by $1,131,898 to $556,231 in the first week after “The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives” star Whitney Leavitt and her former “Dancing with the Stars” partner, Mark Ballas, departed the show.
Compared to Week 50 of the 2024-2025 season, Broadway grosses are down by 11.1%. Attendance is down 4.3% and capacity down 1%. Last season’s Week 50 grosses were reported at $43,063,490, but this week last year had 40 productions running, while Week 50 of the current season effectively had 39 due to “Book of Mormon”’s cancellations.
