Grosses analysis: Broadway box office dips with Fourth of July weekend

For the week ending July 5, the 32 running productions grossed $29,331,200.

Broadway box office grosses are down in Week 6 of the 2026-2027 season. For the week ending July 5, the 32 running productions grossed $29,331,200. This marks a 20% decrease from the week prior’s total gross of $36,698,946. Attendance fell by 11.5%, and capacity dipped by 2.3%. Notably, Week 6 had three fewer productions and 26 fewer performances than the previous week. “Death Becomes Her,” “The Fear of 13” and “Giant” all closed at the end of Week 5. Also of note, the Fourth of July fell on the Saturday of Week 6.

Compared to Week 6 of the previous season, which also included the Fourth of July holiday, Broadway grosses are still down overall, although by a smaller margin. Grosses were down 3.9% compared to Week 6 of the 2025-2026 season, which clocked a gross of $30,529,370. Attendance decreased by 1.3%, and capacity dropped by 6.7%.
