‘Flying Over Sunset’ pushes back first preview, Broadway opening date

“Flying Over Sunset” has pushed back its first preview date and opening night by one week.  The new musical will now begin previews at the Vivian Beaumont Theatre Nov. 11 and open on Dec. 13. The dates were shifted due to scheduling issues, according to a spokesperson for the production.

“Flying Over Sunset” has pushed back its first preview date and opening night by one week.

The new musical will now begin previews at the Vivian Beaumont Theatre Nov. 11 and open on Dec. 13. The dates were shifted due to scheduling issues, according to a spokesperson for the production.

“Flying Over Sunset” features a book and direction by James Lapine, music by Tom Kitt, lyrics by Michael Korie and choreography by Michelle Dorrance.

Harry Hadden-Paton, Carmen Cusack and Tony Yazbeck lead the production and portray fictionalized versions of Aldous Huxley, Clare Boothe Luce and Cary Grant, respectively.

The musical was originally scheduled to begin previews March 12, 2020, but was postponed due to the Broadway shutdown.
