The 68th Grammy Awards took place on Feb. 1, recognizing extraordinary achievement in music across 95 categories. The original Broadway cast recording of “Buena Vista Social Club” took home the Grammy for Best Musical Theater Album, making winners of album producers Marco Paguia, Dean Sharenow and David Yazbek. The win is the first Grammy for Paguia, the second for Sharenow and the second for Yazbek. (Both Sharenow and Yazbek previously won Best Musical Theater Album for “The Band’s Visit”).
Also nominated for Best Musical Theater Album 2026 were the cast recordings of “Death Becomes Her,” the 2024 revival of “Gypsy,” “Just in Time” and “Maybe Happy Ending.”
More Broadway talent was recognized in other categories.
Tony Award-winning actor Cynthia Erivo and “Wicked” film co-star Ariana Grande won for Best Pop Duo/Group Performances for “Defying Gravity.”
In the category of Best Arrangement, Instrumental or A Cappella, Bryan Carter, Charlie Rose and Matthew Whitaker won for arranging “Super Mario Praise Break.” Carter and Rosen previously won a Grammy for the original Broadway cast album of “Some Like It Hot,” the musical for which the duo won the 2023 Tony Award for Best Orchestrations. The win is the second Grammy for Carter and the third for Rosen, who previously won for his arrangement of “Meta Knight’s Revenge.”
Gloria Estefan, whose life story came to Broadway with the bio-musical “On Your Feet!,” won a Grammy for Best Tropical Latin Album for “Raíces.”

The 2026 Grammys took place at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles. The premiere ceremony, featuring the majority of awards, began at 12:30 p.m. ET and streamed on Peacock and the Recording Academy’s official YouTube channel. The official ceremony began at 5 p.m. ET and was broadcast on CBS and streamed on Paramount+.
