The Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS board of trustees voted unanimously on Oct. 8 to add three new members. Joining the board of trustees, effective Oct. 8, are two-time Tony Award-nominated actor Jeremy Jordan, International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees (IATSE) Local One recording corresponding secretary Kurt Musser and two-time Tony-winning actor Kara Young. After years of service, Broadway producer David Binder, actor Mandy Gonzalez and executive producer and director Richard Jay-Alexander are stepping down from the board.

“It’s an honor to be joined by these dynamic industry leaders,” said board president Robert E. Wankel in a statement. “It is through our board members’ shared expertise and dedication to this community that we are able to ensure life-affirming care is available to our community and expand the help provided to millions more through our grantmaking efforts across the country.”

Jordan is a two-time Tony nominee, recognized in 2012 for his role as Jack Kelly in “Newsies” and in 2025 for the titular role in “Floyd Collins.” He is currently starring as Bobby Darin in the bio-musical “Just in Time” through Oct. 18.

Musser is the recording-corresponding secretary for IATSE Local One, the local New York City chapter of the international union representing entertainment industry technicians and craftspeople. With over 20 years of entertainment experience, he also serves as trustee of Local One’s pension, welfare, annuity and training funds; co-chairs its budgets and benefits committee; contributes to its political action committee; and represents the union as a delegate to the New York City Central Labor Council.

Young is a two-time Tony winner for her performances in “Purlie Victorious” and “Purpose.” She most recently appeared on Broadway in the 2026 revival of “Proof” and is set to star in Roundabout Theatre Company’s production of “Mix and Master,” which opens on Jan. 27.

Broadway Cares is a nationwide nonprofit fundraising and grantmaking organization. Since 1988, the nonprofit has awarded more than $300 million to organizations providing essential services for people living with HIV/AIDS and other illnesses, as well as distributing emergency humanitarian aid grants.
