Further casting has been announced for the new Broadway staging of August Wilson’s drama “Joe Turner’s Come and Gone.” Debbie Allen is directing the previously announced production, scheduled to begin previews on March 30, 2026, and open on April 25 at the Barrymore Theatre. The revival is slated to play a limited run through July 12.

As previously announced, the production will star Taraji P. Henson as Bertha Holly and Cedric “The Entertainer” as Seth Holly, with Ruben Santiago-Hudson as Bynum Walker and Joshua Boone as Herald Loomis.

Newly announced cast members include Bradley Stryker as Rutherford Selig, Tripp Taylor as Jeremy Furlow, Savannah Commodore and Dominique Skye Turner sharing the role of Zonia Loomis, with Christopher Woodley and Jackson Edward Davis sharing the role of Reuben Scott.

The production’s understudies are Jasmine Batchelor, Rosalyn Coleman, Thomas Michael Hammond, Cayden McCoy and Kevyn Morrow. Casting is by ARC.

Taylor is a recent graduate of Carnegie Mellon University. “Joe Turner’s Come and Gone” will mark his Broadway debut. Stryker, also making his Broadway debut, has amassed over 100 film and television credits, including appearances on “The Order,” “Magazine Dreams,” “Untamed,” “Devil in Ohio” and “The O.C.”

The play will also be the Broadway debuts of Commodore, Turner, Woodley and Davis. Additional casting will be announced.

Part of Wilson’s “Pittsburgh Cycle” plays, “Joe Turner’s Come and Gone” takes place in 1911 at a boarding house, which serves as a refuge for Black travelers during the Great Migration. Proprietors Seth and Bertha Holly welcome into their home Herald Loomis and his daughter, Zonia, who are on a quest to reunite with Loomis’ lost wife.

“Joe Turner’s Come and Gone” is being produced by Brian Anthony Moreland, Kandi Burruss and the Apollo Theater.
