Comedians and actors Bowen Yang and Matt Rogers, along with former *NSYNC band members Joey Fatone and JC Chasez, have joined the producing team of “Titanique” on Broadway. This marks the Broadway debuts of Yang, a “Saturday Night Live” cast member who also portrayed Pfannee in the film adaptation of “Wicked,” and his “Las Culturistas” podcast co-host and “Fire Island” co-star Rogers. Fatone appeared in the original Broadway production of “Rent” (a 2002 replacement for Mark), the 2003 revival of “Little Shop of Horrors” and “& Juliet,” but “Titanique” will be his and fellow *NSYNC member Chasez’s first Main Stem producing credits.
They join a producing team led by Eva Price, Broadway producer of “& Juliet,” “Liberation” and the 2019 revival of “Oklahoma.” “We’re beyond excited to welcome this smart, outrageous and completely unsinkable group of pop culture royalty aboard ‘Titanique,’” said Price in a statement. “As longtime supporters of the show, it means so much to have them now officially join us in this new capacity and help keep the ship sailing full speed ahead.”
“Titanique” stars Olivier and Lortel Award winner Marla Mindelle, who plays a fictionalized version of Céline Dion as she narrates a partially improvised parody of the events of the film “Titanic.” Mindelle co-wrote the book of “Titanique” with Tye Blue (who also directs) and co-star Constantine Rousouli. She originated the role of Céline Dion in the musical’s Los Angeles premiere, before reprising it Off-Broadway. The musical comedy begins Broadway previews on March 26 ahead of an opening on April 12.
The producing team of “Titanique” on Broadway also includes Blue, Mindelle and Rousouli, along with Diamond Dog Entertainment, OD Company, OD Universe & Co., MEP, James L. Nederlander, Tristan Schukraft, Joe Mulvihill, Patty Baker, James Berwind, Broadway MDs, Crossroads Live, Ken Davenport, Hungryman Entertainment, John Gore Organization, Perakos-Fellman Adventures, Rogers & Spiro, Monica Saunders-Weinberg, ShowTown Productions & Matthew Sycle, Tom Tuft, Boucher & Grant, Melissa Haizlip, IPN, Jelmoni & Lazar, Lauren Kennedy Brady, Willette Klausner, Manhead Merch, Griffin Schultz, Donald Smith, FGSW Productions, Iris Smith and NSST Entertainment.
