The Association of Theatrical Press Agents and Managers (ATPAM) has elected three new executive officers. Manager Lizbeth Cone will take over as president, press agent Jim Byk as vice-president and manager Rina Saltzman as secretary-treasurer. All three are set to be sworn in at the next ATPAM board meeting on May 21, and will serve a term of three years.

Cone will replace outgoing president Penny Daulton, who will serve as president emerita to the board after Cone is sworn in. Byk replaces the late David Gersten, a longtime ATPAM board member who passed away in early April. Saltzman was reelected to the position of secretary-treasurer, which she has held since Dec. 2019.

Cone and Byk previously served on ATPAM’s board of governors. Once they take on their new roles, they will be replaced by board alternates manager Jason Haft and press agent Marie Bshara. New alternates will be nominated at the next general membership meeting on Oct. 16.

Cone has worked on Broadway since 1987, beginning as a child wrangler for the original cast of “Les Misérables.” She eventually took on a position in the general manager’s office, and now has over 40 shows under her belt, including “Stereophonic,” “How to Dance in Ohio” and the 2022 revival of “Into the Woods.” She is currently serving as company manager on “Titanique.”

Byk has been a Broadway press agent for 36 years, representing more than 125 productions. During his 15-year tenure at Boneau/Bryan-Brown, he managed campaigns for acclaimed shows including “Proof,” “Doubt,” and “The History Boys,” as well as the 2012 revival of “Death of a Salesman.” Byk co-founded the Press Room in 2018, where he currently represents “The Book of Mormon” and Manhattan Theatre Club (currently producing “The Balusters”). Earlier this season, Byk also represented “Liberation.” Byk has been a member of ATPAM since 1997, and its board of governors for seven years.

Saltzman has had a 46-year career in live performance. Her first company management position was with the American Ballet Theatre in 1986; since then, she has managed tours of “Cats,” “Sunset Boulevard,” “Ragtime,” “Fosse,” “Mamma Mia!,” “Billy Elliot” and “Beautiful, The Carole King Musical.” She has worked on Broadway productions of “Mamma Mia!,” “Chicago,” “War Paint,” “Pretty Woman” and “An American in Paris.” Saltzman is a recipient of the Broadway League’s George MacPherson Road Award, honoring her achievements in touring Broadway productions.

ATPAM is a national labor union representing the professional managers and publicists who power the business side of the American theater industry. Founded in 1928, the organization emerged from a need to establish fair working standards and collective bargaining rights for those operating behind the scenes in an increasingly commercialized Broadway landscape. Today, the union ensures its members receive equitable compensation, health benefits, and pension security while overseeing the administrative and promotional logistics of major theatrical productions across North America.
