Actors’ Equity Association (AEA), the national union representing professional actors and stage managers, has revealed the nominations for its annual Advisory Committee on Chorus Affairs (ACCA) Award for Outstanding Broadway Chorus. The honor recognizes the talent and contributions of a production’s ensemble.

The nominees for the 2024 ACCA Award are the choruses of “Hell’s Kitchen,” “The Heart of Rock and Roll,” “The Outsiders” and “Water for Elephants.”

Productions that opened on the Main Stem during the 2023-2024 season and uses an Equity Chorus Contract were deemed eligible.

“This season has been an incredibly exciting one for the chorus,” said Al Bundonis, second vice president of AEA and chair of the ACCA. “In fact, there were more eligible companies than any other year since the ACCA Award for Outstanding Broadway Chorus began. The work of the chorus is not just vital to the storytelling of an individual production, but to the industry as a whole, and that contribution needs to be recognized. It is our hope that the Tonys and other theater awards across the country will join us in honoring these gifted professionals for the incredible artistry, athleticism and passion they deliver on our stages every day."

The winner will be announced on June 14, and will be feted at a ceremony on June 24. The event will also honor the previously announced Actors’ Equity Foundation Awards.

Established in 2007, the nominees for the ACCA Award are selected by Equity chorus councilors. ACCA members and past recipients of Equity’s Legacy Robe, the honor bestowed on opening night of each new Broadway musical to the chorus member with the most Broadway chorus credits, will vote to determine the winner.
