Aaron Tveit, Natalie Mendoza and more to depart Broadway’s ‘Moulin Rouge!’

Aaron Tveit, Natalie Mendoza, Tam Mutu and Ricky Rojas will play their final performance in “Moulin Rouge!” on May 8, producers Carmen Pavlovic and Bill Damaschke said Thursday.

Aaron Tveit, Natalie Mendoza, Tam Mutu and Ricky Rojas will play their final performance in “Moulin Rouge!” on May 8, producers Carmen Pavlovic and Bill Damaschke said Thursday.

Tveit, Mutu and Rojas are original cast members, having been in the roles of Christian, the Duke of Monroth and Santiago, respectively, since the musical’s 2018 Boston run. . Mendoza assumed the role of Satine when the production resumed performances this fall.
Replacements for the four roles will be announced at a later date.

The announcement follows the departures of original cast members Danny Burstein and Robyn Hurder in recent months.

“Moulin Rouge!,” an adaptation of the 2001 film, reopened at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre on Sept. 24, 2021. The musical won the most recent Tony Award for Best Musical, along with nine other awards, including Tveit’s win for Best Leading Actor in a Musical.
