“The Queen of Versailles,” a new Broadway musical headlined by Kristin Chenoweth, will play its final performance on Jan. 4, 2026. The show began previews on Oct. 8 and opened on Nov. 9 at the St. James Theatre. By closing, the musical will have played 32 previews and 65 regular performances.

Based on Lauren Greenfield’s 2012 documentary film and the life stories of Jackie and David Siegel, “The Queen of Versailles” follows the true story of Jackie (played by Chenoweth), a former beauty queen and billionaire’s wife, as she and her “Timeshare King” husband, David (F. Murray Abraham), attempt to build the largest private home in America. The mansion is a replica of the Palace of Versailles in Florida, and the 2008 financial crisis threatens to collapse their empire and lavish lifestyle.

“The Queen of Versailles” features a book by Lindsey Ferrentino, a score by Stephen Schwartz, direction by Michael Arden, musical direction by Mary-Mitchell Campbell and choreography by Lauren Yalango-Grant and Christopher Cree Grant.

Joining Chenoweth and Abraham in the principal cast are Melody Butiu as Sofia, Stephen DeRosa as John, Greg Hildreth as Gary, Tatum Grace Hopkins as Jonquil, Isabel Keating as Debbie and Nina White as Victoria Siegel.

The ensemble includes Yeman Brown, David Aron Damane, Drew Elhamalawy, Christopher Gurr, KJ Hippensteel, Cassondra James, Andrew Kober, Jesse Kovarsky, Pablo David Laucerica, Travis Murad Leland, Ryah Nixon, Shea Renne, Michael McCorry Rose, Grace Slear, Anne Fraser Thomas and Jake Bentley Young.

Sherie René Scott is the standby for the role of Jackie Siegel.

Casting is by Stephen Kopel and Carrie Gardner from C12 Casting.

“The Queen of Versailles” has scenic and video design by Dane Laffrey, costume design by Christian Cowan, lighting design by Natasha Katz, sound design by Peter Hylenski, hair and wig design by Cookie Jordan and orchestrations by John Clancy.

“The Queen of Versailles” is produced by Bill Damaschke, Seaview, Sonia Friedman and Chenoweth.
