The Broadway League has canceled its 2020 Spring Road Conference due to concerns about coronavirus, according to an email sent to members Wednesday.

The conference was scheduled to run in New York City from May 12 through May 14. At the yearly conference, presenters, marketers and advertising executives from across the country gather to discuss topics relevant to touring markets and Broadway shows.

Traditionally, it has also provided Broadway shows an opportunity to market themselves as touring productions and to try to woo presenters, many of whom are Tony Awards voters, before the ballots are cast.

Broadway theaters are currently scheduled to remain closed through April 12, with a reopening date on April 13.

The League and the American Theatre Wing have not yet announced any determination on the timeline of the Tony Awards, currently set for June 7.
