Shoshana Bean, Elizabeth Teeter to lead industry presentation of new Diane Warren musical

The cast for the Dec. 13 industry reading of "Obsessed, The Story of Diane Warren … so far" — the recently announced Diane Warren bio-musical — will be led by Shoshana Bean and Elizabeth Teeter. Bean will play Warren, while Teeter takes on a younger version of the songwriter.

The cast for the Dec. 13 industry reading of “Obsessed, The Story of Diane Warren … so far” — the recently announced Diane Warren bio-musical — will be led by Shoshana Bean and Elizabeth Teeter. Bean will play Warren, while Teeter takes on a younger version of the songwriter.

As the story of Warren’s life and career, it includes portrayals of other well-known music artists such as Lauren Cipoletti as Cher and Trisha Yearwood, Jeb Brown as Clive Davis, Kayla Davion as Toni Braxton, Matthew Hydzik as Stephen Tyler and Andrew Kober as Jerry Bruckheimer. The cast for the reading also includes Natalie Gold, David Pittu, Paul Alexander Nolan, Ephie Aardema, Jakeim Hart, Eli Tokash and Grace Yoo.

Warren, herself, paired book writer Joe DiPietro and director Kathleen Marshall to lead the creative team. The musical will feature songs by Warren, including “Rhythm of the Night,” “Nothing’s Gonna Stop Us Now,” “If I Could Turn Back Time,” “Unbreak My Heart,” “Because You Loved Me” and “I Don’t Want To Miss A Thing.” She is also expected to write several new songs for the show’s score.

The reading features musical supervision and orchestrations by Lon Hoyt.

The new musical about the Grammy–, Emmy– and Golden Globe–winning artist is produced by Irit TenHengel.
