Production Resource Group, which typically provides rental lighting and other equipment to theatrical productions and more, will now manufacture face shields for health workers in New York City.

PRG Scenic Technologies in New Windsor, New York, working alongside two other local companies and in partnership with NYU Langone Health, has set a goal of making close to 300,000 shields in less than two weeks. The company has reconfigured a traditional production line to meet social distancing guidelines.

“We’re proud to be a part of this initiative and hope to continue to help those who are aiding in this crisis,” said Mark Peterson, a general manager at PRG who is leading the effort. “By utilizing versatile production methods and intelligent design and in working with Local 311 stagehand labor, we’re going to be able to turn out these shields in record time.”

In Berlin, PRG team has been called upon to help equip a temporary hospital with lighting, IT infrastructure and other cabling.
