Casting and producing office Whitley Theatrical has announced the appointment of Peter Dunn as a casting director and associate producer. Dunn, who joined the company in August, reports to Whitley Theatrical founder and lead casting director and producer Benton Whitley. Dunn will be involved in all of the office’s projects, which has ranged from the Broadway and touring companies of “Hadestown,” Broadway’s “Moulin Rouge!” and “How to Dance in Ohio,” the national tour of “Clue,” Off-Broadway’s “Goddess” and the upcoming workshop “The Turning.”

Dunn has previously served on the casting teams of “Hamilton” on Broadway (plus three touring companies); “Freestyle Love Supreme” on Broadway, tour and in Las Vegas; and Off-Broadway’s “Titanique.”

“Whitley Theatrical is thrilled to welcome Peter Dunn to our team,” Benton Whitley said in a statement. “With years of experience as a casting director and a remarkable eye for discovering and championing diverse talent, Peter will be an invaluable asset as we continue bringing fresh voices and stories to the Broadway stage in 2025 and beyond.”

The aforementioned “The Turning” is written by Zack Zadek and developed and directed by Sammi Cannold. The upcoming four-week workshop is being produced by Center Theatre Group, in association with Whitley and Mark Lunsford. Casting, by Whitley and Dunn, will be announced. A previous industry presentation took place in December 2024.

Whitley Theatrical was established in 2023.
