The 78th annual Tony Awards will feature a reunion of the original Broadway company of “Hamilton.” Cast members of the 2016 Best Musical Tony winner will offer a special performance at the June 8 ceremony to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the show’s Main Stem bow.

Participating in the performance will be “Hamilton” creator and original star Lin-Manuel Miranda, as well as the trio of performers who took home acting awards for their work in “Hamilton”: Daveed Diggs, Renée Elise Goldsberry and Leslie Odom Jr. Also joining the performance will be several actors who are involved in a slew of 2025 nominated musicals, including Jonathan Groff (currently nominated for his leading turn in “Just in Time”), Neil Haskell (an ensemblist of “Death Becomes Her”), Sasha Hutchings (a swing in “Gypsy”) and Jon Rua, who served as co-associate choreographer on “Boop! The Musical” and provided the dance sequences of “Floyd Collins”. Academy Award winner, Tony nominee and three-time former Tony host Ariana DeBose will also appear, alongside Carleigh Bettiol, Andrew Chappelle, Alysha Deslorieux, Sydney James Harcourt, Christopher Jackson, Jasmine Cephas Jones, Stephanie Klemons, Morgan Marcell, Javier Muñoz, Okieriete Onaodowan, Emmy Raver-Lampman, Austin Smith, Phillipa Soo, Seth Stewart, Betsy Struxness, Ephraim Sykes, Voltaire Wade-Greene and Thayne Jasperson, the latter of whom is the only remaining original “Hamilton” cast member in the production.

Featuring a Tony Award-winning book and score by Miranda, “Hamilton” is directed by Thomas Kail. Inspired by Ron Chernow’s 2004 biography of the first secretary of the treasury, the musical chronicles the key players in the founding of the United States of America. “Hamilton” opened on Aug. 6, 2015 and received a record-breaking 16 Tony nominations, winning 11. Additionally, the musical won the 2016 Pulitzer Prize for Drama. In January, the musical surpassed $1 billion in aggregate gross.

As previously announced, the 2025 Tony Awards will take place at Radio City Music Hall. Cynthia Erivo will host the ceremony, which will be broadcast live on CBS and streamed on Paramount+ beginning at 8 p.m. ET. Darren Criss and Goldsberry will host the awards’ pre-show, “Act One,” which will stream live from 6:40 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. ET for free on Pluto TV.

Nominations for the 78th annual Tony Awards were announced on May 1.

The Tony Awards are being presented by the Broadway League and the American Theatre Wing.
