CEO of Hudson entities Neil Mazzella announced in a letter to his staff that he will be stepping down as of Dec. 31, 2025. The Hudson enterprise includes Hudson Scenic Studios, which builds custom sets and automation for theatrical productions including Broadway, and Hudson Theatrical Associates, which provides technical supervision and production management.
Day-to-day operations will be under the purview of incoming CEO Stephen Kaus, who will be supervised by Robert Halmi of Great Point Studios. “These two men have the utmost respect and concern for Hudson, and, under their guidance, Hudson’s leadership role in the theater and the scenic manufacturing industry is assured and will become even stronger in the coming months,” Mazzella wrote.
Mazzella’s contract officially expires on March 8, 2026, though the leadership transition is effective immediately. Mazzella will consult for he company through the end of 2026. Hudson employs more than 100 artists and theater workers.
