The Broadway League Foundation has announced the date and venue for the 18th annual Jimmy Awards, which celebrate the achievements of high school musical theater students across the country. The ceremony will take place on June 21, 2027, at 7:30 p.m. at Broadway's Minskoff Theatre.
To determine nominees for the Jimmy Awards, more than 50 regional awards programs, sponsored by presenters of touring Broadway, will each select two performers from local high schools. These students will travel to New York City in June for a 10-day intensive, including coaching sessions, rehearsals led by Broadway professionals and the June 21 talent showcase and award ceremony.
“The Jimmy Awards celebrate the extraordinary talent of young people from communities across the country and the educators and programs that help them shine,” said Broadway League president Jason Laks in a statement. “There is truly nowhere I would rather be on June 21 than watching these remarkable students take the Broadway stage. Mark your calendars now because it is an unforgettable night and an amazing reminder of the talent, passion and promise of the next generation.”
Founded in 2009 by Nederlander Alliances, Pittsburgh CLO and the Broadway Education Alliance, the Jimmy Awards are dedicated to spotlighting the importance of arts education, honoring teachers’ and students’ commitment to the performing arts and creating a pipeline of future arts workers and audiences.
The Jimmy Awards are a program of the Broadway League Foundation. The Foundation serves as the philanthropic arm of the Broadway League, the national trade organization for the Main Stem theater industry.
