The July 4 holiday week has floated Broadway’s box office back above $30 million.

For the week ending July 10, the 29 productions on Broadway grossed $30,109,850 – just a .6% increase from the previous week. Capacity dipped almost 4% to about 83% overall.

A handful of shows had varied performance schedules due to the July 4 holiday week, including “Mr. Saturday Night,” which only played six performances, and “The Lion King,” which played nine performances.

That nine-show week boosted the long-running Disney musical at the box office, bringing in $2,358,454.00 and playing to 97% capacity.

For the second consecutive week, “The Lion King” ousted “Hamilton” as the second-highest-grossing production, falling short only to “The Music Man.”

Three shows played their final performances on Sunday, including “American Buffalo,” “Macbeth” and “Plaza Suite,” the latter being the only production to play to 100% capacity last week.

“Paradise Square” will soon join the list of shuttered productions as producers announced that it will end its run on July 17. The new musical has struggled at the box office, despite a Tony Award-winning turn from Joaquina Kalukango. Last week, it grossed $266,926.30 and played to 48% capacity, both numbers down about 11% from the previous week.

“Funny Girl” also continues to struggle at the box office, with grosses and capacity down for a second straight week. The revival earned $708,862.00 and played to 65% capacity, down 4% and 12% respectively. This comes as new casting announcements were made Monday, including the early departure of current Fanny Brice, Beanie Feldstein.

Meanwhile, “Into the Woods” officially opened on Sunday. Through seven previews and one performance, the New York City Center Encores! transfer grossed $1,448,303.20 and played to 94% capacity.

“The Kite Runner,” the new play based on The New York Times bestselling book of the same name by Khaled Hosseini, began previews on July 6. Through six previews, the production grossed $266,612 and played to about 83% capacity.
