To celebrate the tenth anniversary of “Hamilton” on Broadway, Rhino Entertainment Company and Atlantic Records have announced the release of a special anthology album box set. Titled “Rise Up! Hamilton: The Anthology,” the release comes in two formats — a seven-LP and a five-CD set — and is slated for release on Sept. 25.
The anthology will include the Recording Industry Association of America Diamond-certified original Broadway cast recording of “Hamilton,” along with two compilation/cover albums featuring music from the show: 2016’s “Hamilton Mixtape” and 2018’s “Hamildrops.” “Hamildrops” was originally released as a series of singles throughout 2018, with one new track published online each month. This box set marks the first time “Hamildrops” has been distributed as a physical album.
Featured artists on “Hamildrops” and “The Hamilton Mixtape” include Alicia Keys, Ashanti, Ben Platt, Busta Rhymes, Chance the Rapper, Christopher Jackson, the Decemberists, Ja Rule, John Legend, Kelly Clarkson, Mobb Deep, Nas, Queen Latifah, Regina Spektor, Sia, “Weird Al” Yankovic and Wiz Khalifa, among others. John Kander, Tony Award-winning composer of “Cabaret,” “Chicago” and “Kiss of the Spider Woman,” penned the music for the original “Hamildrops” track “Cheering for Me Now,” which is performed by Tony-winning “Hamilton” scribe and original cast member Lin-Manuel Miranda.
The “Rise Up! Hamilton” anthology will also include an 80-page book featuring previously unpublished photos and behind-the-scenes insights from the original Broadway company and cast recording producers Black Thought, Questlove and Tony winner Bill Sherman, along with notes by some of the featured artists. Rounding out the collection are a note by Miranda, a copy of the libretto, a poster and a replica of a ticket to “Hamilton”’s opening night at the Public Theater. The numbered LP edition also includes a seven-inch vinyl single featuring the as-yet-unreleased “HamilTEN Megamix” and a demo version of “My Shot,” along with a custom slipmat and wooden record player adapter.
In addition, “HamilTEN Megamix” is available on streaming platforms as of July 16. Recorded live by the original Broadway cast of “Hamilton” during their performance at the 2025 Tony Awards, this medley of songs from the musical features a new arrangement by Tony-winning “Hamilton” orchestrator Alex Lacamoire. This marks the first time the Tonys have licensed an awards show performance for commercial release.
“Hamilton” is now in its tenth year on Broadway, having officially opened on Aug. 6, 2015. The musical won eleven 2016 Tony Awards and has since sparked a series of four national tours.
“Hamilton” is produced on Broadway by Jeffrey Seller, Sander Jacobs, Jill Furman and the Public Theater.
