Broadway’s box office held steady during week 26 of the 2025-2026 season, seeing a 1.1% percent increase in gross across all 34 running productions relative to the week prior. The number of productions stayed the same, although “Rob Lake Magic with Special Guests the Muppets” closed on Nov. 16 and the Main Stem premiere of “Marjorie Prime” began previews on Nov. 20. Exactly half of the shows running saw an increase in their take at the box office compared to the week prior. Attendance decreased a slight 2.4% across productions; there were 290,413 admissions for the week ending Nov. 23. Capacity stayed mainly the same, dipping a negligible 0.6% to 89%.
Compared to week 26 of last season, the gross is up significantly. Broadway has taken in 15.8% more than at his same point last year. And it’s worth mentioning that Broadway has officially made it to the halfway point of the season. That said, attendance is down 4.6% compared to week 26 of the previous season. Capacity is up ever so slightly, clocking in at 89% over last year’s 87.2%.
“Harry Potter and the Cursed Child”’s fortunes continue to rise. The play took in $2,973,448, marking an increase of $378,980 over the week prior. (This was the largest increase for a single show’s gross in week 26.) “Cursed Child” broke the Lyric Theatre’s box office record for an eight-performance week — a record the play had previously set during the week ending Dec. 30, 2023, when the play took in $2,718,487.50. Notably, the week ending Nov. 23 marked the second week in which actor Tom Felton, who originated the role of Draco Malfoy in the Harry Potter movies, is reprising that role onstage.
