Grosses analysis: ‘Every Brilliant Thing’ soars before opening as Broadway’s overall box office declines

For the week ending March 1, the 27 running productions grossed $26,036,589.

Broadway’s box office fell during Week 40 of the 2025-2026 Broadway season. For the week ending March 1, the 27 running productions grossed 17.5% less than the week prior, totaling $26,036,589. Attendance dropped by 8.5% to 221,567; capacity dipped 6.9% to 87.8% across Broadway. Week 40 did have one fewer show running than the previous week. Additionally, five shows canceled performances on Monday, Feb. 23, due to the blizzard that hit New York City. The week also included Kids’ Night on Broadway, in which youth ages 18 and under could attend for free with a full-paying adult; 18 productions participated in this initiative from the Broadway League.
