Grosses analysis: Broadway numbers take a dip, despite three new shows opening

For the week ending April 19, the 40 running productions grossed $39,084,851.

Broadway box office grosses are down in Week 47 of the 2025-2026 season, with all but nine of the 40 currently running productions taking in less than they did the week prior. The overall gross decreased by 10.3%, with the total box office gross totaling $39,084,851 for the week ending April 19. Capacity also dipped by 5.1% to 87.9% (down from 93% the week prior), while attendance decreased by 5% tallying 327,269 (down from 344,459 the week prior). Of note, “Death of a Salesman” and “Giant” both had planned seven-performance weeks.

Compared to this week the previous season, Broadway grosses are also down, decreasing by 11.5%. Week 47 of the 2024-2025 season saw a gross of $44,163,808, despite more total previews in the current season. (Week 47 of this season saw the same number of performances as the one prior, but 10 more previews.)
