Broadway’s box office boomed during week 31 of the 2025-2026 season, seeing a 14.4% increase in gross across all 33 productions relative to the week prior. This is especially noteworthy given there were three fewer productions running the week ending Dec. 28 than in the previous week. Attendance took a slight dip of 4%, compared to the week prior. Capacity increased 1.8%.

Compared to this same week (31) last season, the total gross is up 22%. In terms of attendance, when compared to the same week last season, the week ending Dec. 28 saw a negligible increase of 0.7%. Capacity is up year over year by 2%.

That said, this year, week 31 incorporated the Christmas holiday. Last year, the Christmas holiday fell during week 32 of the season. When comparing this year’s holiday week to that of 2024, the week ending Dec. 28, 2025 came out slightly lower — grossing 2.9% less. Attendance this year compared to the Christmas week last season demonstrated a negligible decrease of 0.4%. Capacity was down 2.4%. Though Christmas 2025 did not best Christmas 2024, it was still a triumphant week at the box office.
