Grosses analysis: Broadway box office back on the rise after a slower season start

For the week ending June 7, the 40 running productions grossed $38,224,380.

Broadway box offices are up in Week 2 of the 2026-2027 season. For the week ending June 7, the 40 running productions grossed a total of $38,224,380, up 2.4% from the week prior. Attendance dipped slightly by 0.8%, and percent capacity similarly decreased by 0.5%. Of note, “Giant,” “The Rocky Horror Show” and “Two Strangers (Carry A Cake Across New York)” each had a planned seven-performance week, during a week that also included the 2026 Tony Awards; all of the above shows were nominated for awards in their relevant production categories. 

Compared to Week 2 of the 2025-2026 season, Broadway box offices are down overall. The total gross for this season’s second week was 16.5% lower than last season’s $45,788,192, while attendance decreased by 3.5% and capacity by 2.4%. Average paid admission was $18.73 lower.
