“Fairview” by Jackie Sibblies Drury won the 2019 Pulitzer Prize for Drama, with “What the Constitution Means to Me” by Heidi Schreck and “Dance Nation” by Clare Barron named as finalists.

Drury’s play, which examines race and privilege as told through a family drama, had its world premiere off-Broadway at Soho Rep in June 2018 and is set to run again at Theatre for a New Audience in June 2019. “What the Constitution Means to Me” is currently playing on Broadway, while “Dance Nation” had its world premiere at Playwrights Horizons in April 2018.

Last year, “Cost of Living” by Martyna Majok took home the Pulitzer Prize for Drama. Majok was preceded by Lynn Nottage’s “Sweat” in 2017 and Lin-Manuel Miranda’s “Hamilton” in 2016.
