Producer Hub has announced Dani Barlow as its inaugural programming director. Barlow will begin on July 14 with the nonprofit that provides connective resources, including fiscal sponsorship, for independent producers and artists.

As programming director, in co-leadership with producing director Michael Francis, Barlow will develop and manage programming initiatives, foster partnerships and take part in shaping Producer Hub’s strategic direction.

No stranger to the nonprofit part of the industry, Barlow previously served as foundation director of Stage Directors and Choreographers Foundation (SDCF), the philanthropic arm of the union representing stage directors and choreographers. At SDCF, Barlow oversaw all programming efforts and led the organization through all aspects of operations, finances, fundraising and general leadership. Previous positions include tenures as interim associate producer at Woolly Mammoth Theatre Company in Washington, D.C. and associate director of development and alumni affairs for Yale Repertory Theatre and the School of Drama. Barlow completed a theater management fellowship at Steppenwolf Theatre Company in Chicago.

“On behalf of the board of directors, it is with great delight that we welcome Dani Barlow into the energetic and burgeoning community that exists at Producer Hub,” board president Adam Hyndman said in a statement. “We are thrilled that her passion, perspective and diligence will be at the helm of leadership in this inaugural role of programming director. Dani brings a clear and measured vision to her facilitation, and I look forward to the ways in which our network of artists, independent producers and community organizations will be supported by her thoughtful programming that prioritizes people first and foremost.”

“I am thrilled to be joining Producer Hub’s leadership team alongside Michael, and to work with the rest of the staff on this next chapter in the organization’s life,” Barlow said. “As someone who is deeply inspired by artists and is passionate about supporting them, I am excited to be stepping into this role to develop and manage programming in service of independent producers and artists. I am looking forward to bringing my experience to the table and being in conversation with the artistic community at Producer Hub to continue to build something together that allows artistic work to reach its full potential.”

In addition to Francis, the Producer Hub team includes operations and fiscal sponsorship manager Katie Dragone, communications and engagement manager Cindy Tsai and operations coordinator Kate Mantyh. In addition to Hyndman, the Producer Hub board of directors comprises co-founder and board treasurer Mara Isaacs, co-founder and board member Ronee Penoi and board secretary Liz Engelman.
