Broadway’s “Buena Vista Social Club” held a special Educators Night on Broadway performance on April 16. Five hundred New York City public school educators — teachers, paraprofessionals, social workers, guidance counselors and more — attended the evening performance at the Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre.

This event was made possible through the collaboration of the United Federation of Teachers (UFT) and the Broadway League’s Broadway Bridges program. The program gives public schools in New York City the opportunity to purchase $10 tickets to Broadway shows for their 10th-grade students. Broadway Bridges’ spring 2026 cycle, which concludes with Educators Night, partnered with 20 Broadway shows, served 507 public high schools in all 51 districts and offered over 12,000 tickets to students throughout the city. Tickets are based on availability and coincide with public school calendars.

“New York educators do essential work every day to help shape the next generation, and we are proud to welcome them to Broadway for a well-deserved evening,” said Broadway League president Jason Laks in a statement. “Programs like this reflect the shared value of access to live theatre and the meaningful connection it can create. We are grateful to ‘Buena Vista Social Club’ and our partners at the United Federation of Teachers for helping make this special night possible.”

“Educators put their students first every single day. We thank The Broadway League and ‘Buena Vista Social Club’ for recognizing that dedication and celebrating educators with such a special evening,” added UFT president Michael Mulgrew.

Since its launch in 2017, Broadway Bridges has brought over 170,000 New York City public high school students and chaperones to see Broadway shows. The Broadway League launched a nationwide version of the program, Broadway Bridges on the Road, in 2025, partnering with 30 Broadway League member organizations around the country.
