All Broadway shows were set to go on as scheduled as of Thursday afternoon as a winter storm hit the New York Area.

The storm, nicknamed a “bomb cyclone,” is expected to bring up to six to eight inches of snow to the city through Friday morning and winds as high as 50 mph, according to the National Weather Service.

A winter storm warning is in effect until 1 a.m. Friday. New York City public schools were closed Thursday and Governor Cuomo declared a state of emergency for New York City, Westchester and Long Island.

New York’s John F. Kennedy Airport said it had temporarily suspended flights as of 11:05 a.m. Thursday.

The Broadway League reiterated their announcement at 3 p.m. declaring all shows going on as scheduled, but said they would update their page with any changes.

The last time time all Broadway shows were cancelled due to inclement weather was Jan. 23, 2016. The Broadway League cancelled all matinee and evening performances for that Saturday, as the city banned road travel and public transportation was suspended.

Elsewhere on Broadway, the New York office of the Actors’ Equity Association and the Audition Center were closed Thursday. The Actors Fund Times Square offices were also closed Thursday morning, which they tweeted included scheduled workshops. They later closed The Friedman Health Center for the Performing Acts.
