The Broadway League has announced the return of its Broadway Bridges program. The initiative, which kicks back off on Jan. 28, gives every 10th grader who attends a public school in the five boroughs of New York the chance to see a Broadway show for $10.
This year, 20 Broadway shows are participating in the program: “& Juliet,” “Aladdin,” “Buena Vista Social Club,” “Cats: The Jellicle Ball,” “Chicago,” “Death Becomes Her,” “Hadestown,” “Hell’s Kitchen,” “Maybe Happy Ending,” “MJ,” “Moulin Rouge!,” “Operation Mincemeat,” “Ragtime,” “SIX,” “Stranger Things: The First Shadow,” “The Great Gatsby,” “The Lion King,” “The Lost Boys,” “The Outsiders” and “Two Strangers (Carry a Cake Across New York).” Ticket availability varies by show and performances are timed to coincide with the demands of the school calendar.
In partnership with NYC Public Schools and the United Federation of Teachers, and with the support from the New York City Council, the Broadway Bridges program has offered more than 160,000 students and their chaperones the chance to go to a Broadway show since it began in 2017. In 2025, 27,000 individuals participated. Over 12,000 tickets will be offered this spring.
“The scale of this spring’s participation reflects the commitment of productions, educators and public partners to ensuring Broadway is accessible to the next generation,” said Broadway League president Jason Laks in a statement.
“For so many of our students, this is their first exposure to the thrill of Broadway,” added Michael Mulgrew, president of the United Federation of Teachers. “We know it opens their eyes to the possibility of careers in the arts. We deeply appreciate our partnership with the Broadway League and the city’s Department of Education for making this magic happen.”
The lead sponsor of Broadway Bridges is Flagstar Bank.
