The new Broadway musical “Beaches” has partnered with the Born This Way Foundation to launch a kindness and mental health awareness initiative. Co-founded by singer, songwriter and actor Lady Gaga and her mother, Cynthia Germanotta, the Born This Way Foundation will activate this partnership as part of the Foundation’s Generation Be There campaign, hosting a post-show talkback and promoting its free online mental health course with a giveaway.

The talkback will be entitled “Be There: The Power of Friendship + Kindness” in May or June to coincide with the Tony Awards season. Featuring members of the “Beaches” cast and members of the creative team alongside a representative of the Born This Way Foundation, the conversation will revolve around the musical’s themes of friendship, chosen family and kindness, and their importance as tools for mental health.

In addition, “Beaches” and the Born This Way Foundation will offer a Kindness Ambassador Giveaway. Fans who complete the Be There Certificate online mental health course can enter to win a pair of tickets to the 2026 Tony Awards, which they will attend as “Beaches”’ official Kindness Ambassadors. The Be There Certificate was created by the Foundation and Jack.org, a nonprofit organization that supports youth mental health.

“At its heart, Beaches is about showing up for someone — not perfectly, but consistently,” said “Beaches” producer Jennifer Maloney-Prezioso in a statement. “Partnering with Born This Way Foundation allows us to take that idea beyond the stage and turn it into something active and accessible. The Be There Certificate gives people real tools to support each other, and that feels deeply aligned with the story we’re telling every night.”

“At Born This Way Foundation, we believe that small acts of kindness and connection can have a profound impact on mental health,” added Germanotta. “This partnership with ‘Beaches’ is a beautiful example of how storytelling can inspire people to show up for one another in real life. We’re excited to bring the Generation Be There movement to Broadway audiences and beyond.”

Based on the New York Times bestselling novel by Iris Rainer Dart (who also wrote the musical’s lyrics and co-wrote its book with Thom Thomas) and the movie of the same name, “Beaches” follows the turbulent lifelong friendship between Cee Cee Bloom and Bertie White. Starring Jessica Vosk and Kelli Barrett, the musical opens at the Majestic Theatre on April 22, and is set to run through Sept. 6.
