Brody Grant, Tony Award-nominated for his Broadway debut as Ponyboy Curtis in the new musical “The Outsiders,” recently offered a performance of “Great Expectations” on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.

“The Outsiders” examines the idea of chosen family among two teenage Tulsa street gangs, the Greasers and the Socs. Based on S.E. Hinton’s 1967 novel of the same name and the subsequent 1983 film adaptation by Francis Ford Coppola, the musical features a book by Adam Rapp and Justin Levine and a score by Jamestown Revival. Danya Taymor directs the musical, which opened on April 11 at the Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre. The production is currently nominated for 12 Tony Awards, including Best Musical, in addition to nods for Grant, Taymor and Jamestown Revival, as well Rapp and Levine.
