The new Broadway staging of “Waiting for Godot” has recouped its $7.5 million investment in eight weeks (as of the week ending Nov. 9), making it the first production of the 2025-2026 season to make its money back. The revival began previews on Sept. 13 and opened on Sept. 28 at the Hudson Theatre. The production is scheduled to conclude its limited run on Jan. 4, 2026.

Jamie Lloyd directs the revival, which stars Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter (former co-stars of the “Bill and Ted” films) as Estragon and Vladimir, respectively. Rounding out the cast are Brandon J. Dirden as Pozzo and Michael Patrick Thornton as Lucky, with Zaynn Arora and Eric Williams alternating in the role of Boy. The production’s understudies are Jesse Aaronson and Franklin Bongjio.

The design team for “Waiting for Godot” includes Lloyd’s frequent collaborators Soutra Gilmour (set and costume design), Jon Clark (lighting design), Ben and Max Ringham (sound design) and Cheryl Thomas (hair and makeup design).

“Music From ‘Waiting For Godot,’” a full-length album composed and produced by the Ringhams featuring 13 tracks of original instrumental music from and inspired by the production, was released last week. The album is available to stream on all digital streaming platforms.

“Waiting for Godot” is produced by the Jamie Lloyd Company, ATG Productions, Bad Robot Live and Gavin Kalin Productions.
