Dramatists Play Service (DPS) has acquired the global licensing rights to “Peter Pan Goes Wrong.” The comedy is now available for licensing in North America through DPS, an imprint of Concord Theatricals.
Authored by Mischief Theatre’s Henry Shields, Henry Lewis and Jonathan Sayer, “Peter Pan Goes Wrong” chronicles the on and offstage chaos that ensues when the fictional Cornley Drama Society attempts to mount a production of “Peter Pan.”
“We are thrilled to welcome ‘Peter Pan Goes Wrong’ into the Dramatists Play Service catalog,” said Concord’s chief theatricals executive Sean Patrick Flahaven in a statement. “Known for their signature style of comedic hijinks, the Mischief team does it again with this hysterical and inventive play, and we are excited to now make it available for licensing.”
Founded in 2008, Mischief is a British theater company known for creating works of physical comedy. “Peter Pan Goes Wrong” is a follow-up to their farce “The Play That Goes Wrong.” According to DPS, the latter is one of the top 10 most licensed titles for the imprint.
Following previews that began on March 17, 2023, “Peter Pan Goes Wrong” opened on Broadway on April 19 at the Ethel Barrymore Theatre. The extended limited run, directed by Adam Meggido, closed on July 23. During its run, the company included limited stints from Tony winner Neil Patrick Harris as well as Emmy Award nominee Ellie Kemper. The production won the 2023 Drama Desk Award for Unique Theatrical Experience.
Other recent acquisitions by DPS include 2025 Pulitzer Prize finalist “Oh, Mary!” by Cole Escola, as well as Ayad Akhtar’s “McNeal” and Delia Ephron’s “Left on Tenth.”
Concord’s other imprints beyond DPS include Broadway Licensing, Playscripts and Stage Rights.
